Goa Police have registered a case of raping a minor girl against unattached MLA Atanacio alias Baabush Monserrate. The survivor, a migrant girl complained that “Babush” raped her several times. She was employed by the MLA in one of his shops and was later sent to Apana Ghar on charges of theft.
The MLA from Santacruz constituency, who was expelled from Congress party for anti party activities after Panaji assembly bye poll elections, has been booked under IPC sections 378,370,342, 328 amounting to rape, abduction,wrongful restrain and causing hurt. Complaint surfaced before the Child Welfare Committee. Police have recorded the statement of the survivor and conducted medical test.
