Jammu & Kashmir Police has arrested one of the two accused named by Handwara girl in molestation case. The arrest comes two days after the ‘victim was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Handwara on Saturday.
The arrested person Hilal Ahmed Bandey, is among the two accused in April 12 case which resulted in large scale protests not only in Handwara and else where in the valley. Another boy is reported to be absconding.
Five persons including a woman were killed in forces’ actions after the alleged molestation incident. State government has ordered a probe by Additional District Magistrate into the firing incident of April 12 in Handwara in which three civilians were killed.
