At least 50 people were killed yesterday after air strikes in Aleppo and Idlib provinces that hit two schools and five medical facilities. United Nations and United States have condemned suspected Russian air strikes on medical facilities and schools. United Nations Deputy spokesman Farhan Haq said, UN chief Ban Ki-moon termed the attacks as blatant violations of international law.

US State Department said that President Bashar al- Assad regime and its supporters will continue these attacks, without cause and without sufficient regard for international obligations to safeguard innocent lives. It said, such action casts doubt on Russia’s willingness and ability to help bring to a stop the continued brutality of the Assad regime against its own people.

European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini termed the attack as unacceptable and urged all parties to respect basic principles of humanitarian law. Meanwhile, the Syrian ambassador to Moscow accused the United States of destroying a hospital backed by the humanitarian group Médecins Sans Frontières.
