ALLAHABAD HCThe controversial Uttar Pradesh Judicial Magistrate Ankit Goyal, who had slapped sedition charges against Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley last year for his comments against Supreme Court judgment on National judicial Appointment Commission (NJAC) has been suspended.

An inquiry has also been ordered for further action as per the direction of Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court. According to High court registry, magistrate has been suspended for committing irregularities in judicial proceedings and failed to apply judicial mind in his judicial work.

Goyal, who is presently posted at Kulpahad in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, had come in lime light when he had summoned Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in his court.

Aggrieved by the order of the magistrate, Mr Jaitley challenged it in the High Court. Justice Yashwant Varma of the Allahabad High Court had not only quashed the order of the Judicial Magistrate but had also made remark against him.
