Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoles death of former Nepal PM

Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has passed away. Koirala was suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. He will be remembered for his initiatives to bolster India Nepal ties.
Often described as India’s friend, Sushil Koirala hailed India’s assistance during the Nepal earthquake saying Nepal was blessed with neighbors like India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted that “In Sushil Koirala ji, Nepali Congress has lost a big leader who served Nepal for decades & India lost a valued friend. Pained by his demise. RIP.”
The Prime Minister added that “Sushil Koirala ji’s simplicity holds lessons for all of us. My condolences to the Koirala family & people of Nepal in this hour of grief.”
