Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra has called PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti and state President of BJP Sat Pal Sharma for meeting tomorrow asking them to clarify their stand on formation of government.
According to party sources, the leaders of both the parties have received the communications from the Governor in this regard. The party sources also disclosed that both Ms. Mehbooba and Mr. Sharma are scheduled to meet the Governor tomorrow.
Meanwhile a day after the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti asserted that her party will have to reassess whether it can continue its alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form government in the state, the BJP state core group left for New Delhi to meet the party national president, Amit Shah.
BJP state President Sat Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, Jugal Kishore and Shamsher Singh Manhas have left for New Delhi after the core group met in Jammu earlier today, sources said.
They said that the Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra has earlier summoned the BJP state President Sat Sharma to clarify the party’s stand on government formation on February 2.
In Jammu, at the meeting, the BJP leaders discussed the situation of uncertainty emerging in the state following suspense over government formation after former CM Mufti Sayeed’s demise and PDP’s reluctance to continue its alliance with the right-wing party, sources added.
