Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the government was committed to bring marginalised sections into the mainstream. For this, he said, We will do everything possible, where rules and systems have to be changed, we will change them.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in the holy city of Varanasi this morning and flagged off Mahamana Superfast Express, country’s first super luxury train with modified coaches, which will connect Varanasi to New Delhi. Besides this, Mr. Modi also distributed e-rickshaws and various aids to differently-abled people.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Modi said, while people are sympathetic, things are lacking when it comes to facilities be it in trains, buses etc. He emphasised that as a society, we have to ensure that together we have to care for all those who are ‘divyang’. The Prime Minister said, let us not think about what is lacking in a person, but let us see what is the extra ordinary quality a person is blessed with. Mr Modi said, we are constantly thinking about how development will reach the poor and how their lives will be transformed.

The Prime Minister also visited the hospital and enquired about the differently abled persons who were injured this morning in a road accident. Twenty-two differently abled persons, en-route to Prime Minister’s aid distribution programme in Varanasi were injured when the bus carrying them hit a pole in Kapsethi police station area, this morning.

Earlier, UP Secondary Education Minister Balram Singh Yadav welcomed Mr Modi on behalf of the state government as Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav would welcome him at Lucknow. During the day-long tour, the Prime Minister will attend three major events in Lucknow too. He will address the students of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University during its sixth convocation. He will then leave for Ambedkar Mahsabha office where he will offer floral tribute to Ambedkar’s urn.
