Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh today expressed deep concern over the prevailing law-and-order situation in West Bengal and asked the people of the state to vote the BJP to power by dislodging the Trinamul Government in the forthcoming Assembly polls. Addressing a BJP rally at Ashoke Nagar in North 24-Parganas district today, Mr. Singh said that people of Bengal voted CM Mamata Banerjee to power removing the Left from the land of Subhash Chandra Bose and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in the last Assembly elections.

Ms. Banerjee came to power promising al-round welfare of Maa-Maati-Maanush but the condition of the State during the present regime has deteriorated to such an extent when none of the three are safe, he said. Mr. Singh asked the people to vote freely without any fear in the coming Assembly elections to consolidate BJP in the State and bring about a real change. His Ministry will provide as much Central force as needed to the Election Commission for the voting, he assured.

Alleging that the Mamata Government was indulging in the politics of vote bank, Mr. Singh said contrary to the Trinamul Congress’ approach, BJP believes in appeasement of none and welfare of all. Referring to the recent violence and gutting of public property at Kaliachak in Malda, Mr. Singh said even the Police-personnel are not safe in Bengal. The truth of this incident will be brought to the fore and culprits punished, he assured. The Union Government, Mr. Singh said, will do everything to improve the situation needed for industrialisation. Given to the present unsafe situation in Bengal not a single rupee will come as the investment, he pointed out.

The BJP is in the Government at the Centre because of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee who founded Bharatiya Jan Sangh that later emerged as the BJP. BJP will ensure that no Bangladeshi infiltrator comes to Bengal and the state’s border with Bangladesh is completely safe, he added. Party leaders, including Kailash Vijayvargiya, Dilip Ghosh, Rahul Sinha among others attended the rally.
