Central Vigilance Commission has asked all central government departments to dispose of corruption complaints expeditiously. In a directive, the Commission has asked the Chief Vigilance Officers of all departments to quickly dispose of all such complaints, especially those pending for over six months.
The move comes after the Commission noted that CVOs were not monitoring pending complaints by logging on to an online platform. It observed that several CVOs are still not checking their pendency regularly.
The Commission also warned that it will take a serious view if it is noticed on further review that some CVOs are not taking necessary action.
The CVC had last year reviewed pendency of investigation reports, whistle-blower complaints, implementation of its advices for both major and minor penalty and cases with departmental investigating officers. It had then expressed concern at delays in many cases.
