Three youths from Mumbai who have been missing for some time are suspected to have joined terror outfit Islamic State -IS. Malvani police station’s senior inspector Milind Khetle told AIR that the parents of the three young men residing in Malwani area in western suburb of Mumbai, had registered a missing complaint with the Police Station.

Quoting Anti-terrorism Squad -ATS Mumbai, an agency report said that the three youths have been suspected to be radicalized to joining IS. Police added that it is probing the matter .

Mumbai Police Spokesperson and DCP Detection, Dhananjay Kulkarni said that the police have registered a case of three missing persons. However, he stated that he has no confirmation of the missing persons’ links with IS as the police probe is currently underway.

According to details from Malwani Police, one youth left home in October after telling his parents that he had to go to Pune in connection with a job offer he got from a Kuwait-based firm. The other two also left home in December this year on the same date on some pretext. The Malwani Police said that the probe is on to ascertain the suspicion.
