The Congress today accused the government of targeting the opposition parties by using CBI and Enforcement Directorate. Speaking during zero hour in the Lok Sabha Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that they are protesting against the perceived political vendetta being adopted by the ruling party. He said, no action has so far been taken against some of the BJP ruled States Chief Ministers in connection with the alleged corruption cases.

Mr Kharge charged that the Government is trying to suppress the voice of opposition and Congress will not be cowed down with such tactics. Mr Kharge also took on Union Minister General (Retd.) V K Singh for his alleged anti-dalits remarks saying the Minister should be dropped as he has no respect for the weaker the section.

On the other hand, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venakiah Naidu rejected the allegation of Congress saying that the government has nothing to do with National Herald case and the matter is before the Court. He said, the case against the Congress leaders in this regard was filed during the UPA regime.

He said, the Congress party is frustrated with the mandate given to the Narendra Modi led government and it should respect the verdict. He said, the government is satisfied with the performance of all its ministers.

Mr Naidu said, the Congress has no issue and stalling the proceedings of the House is not appropriate. Mr Naidu appealed to the Congress members not to disrupt the House proceedings and discharge their duties as a responsible opposition. Later, the TMC members staged a walkout as its member Saugata Roy was not allowed to speak on the issue.
