A special court of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh has awarded life imprisonment to SIMI activists Abu Faizal in the case of killing of a police constable. The court had on Friday found him guilty of killing constable of Anti Terrorist Squad-ATS Sitaram Yadav in 2009 in Khandwa.

“Special judge P S Bhadoria sentenced Abu Faizal to life imprisonment until natural death and seven years rigorous imprisonment under different sections of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. All the sentences will run concurrently. Co-accused Mehtab, has been awarded three years imprisonment.

He was found guilty under Arms Act. Three more accused in the case are absconding. There are several other cases including blast, murder and dacoity against Abu Faizal. He had escaped with his other colleagues from Khandwa jail in 2013. Latter he was nabbed.”
