Samajwadi Party has announced that it will fight Bihar assembly elections on its own. Party will no longer be the part of the Mahagathbandhan, the great pre-poll alliance of anti BJP parties ahead of Bihar assembly elections. Talking to media persons after parliamentary board meeting of the party in Lucknow today, General secretary Ramgopal Yadav said that Party will decide the number of seats to contest. He accused the Maha Gathbandhan leaders of insulting Samajwadi Party as they even not thought it fit to consult before announcing the seat sharing plan, said Prof Yadav.

When asked about the fate of Janta Parivar unity, Ramgopal Yadav said it never came into existence. He accused the Maha Gathbandhan leaders, without naming anyone, that they never cared about ‘gathbandhan dharma’. The Samajwadi party may make some pre poll alliance with any other party, but it has been not decided as yet, said Ramgopal.

Senior party leader Azam Khan and Bihar affairs chief Kironmoy Nanda were not present in the Parliamentary board meeting presided over by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. Ram Chandar Yadav the Bihar state Samajwadi Party chief was also present on this occasion in Lucknow.
