There can never be a ‘third party’ in Indo-Pak talks

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj today made it clear that every ‘ talks’ was not a dialogue. “Only composite dialogue is actually dialogue” She said referring to forthcoming Indo-Pak NSA level talks.
She said that Pakistan has time till tonight to give assurance that NSA-level talks will only be on terror, “else there will be no talks”.
The meeting of NSA talks will only be on terror or topics related to terror. There can never be a ‘third party’ in Indo-Pak talks, She said.
She asked Pak NSA Sartaj Aziz, not to make Hurriyat 3rd member in talks between India and Pakistan.
“I’m saying this, come to Delhi to only discuss terror”, she said.
EAM said that Nawaz Sharif faced flak right after Ufa meet,decided not to let NSA level talks happen. “Ever since Ufa, 91 ceasefire violations have taken place.
She said that Vajpayee went to Lahore in 1999 but got Kargil in return. “In Ufa when two PM’s met, there was no talk of composite or resumed dialogue” she said while addressing media today.
She said tyhat a productive dialogue can take place in an environment free of terror & violence,de-linked terror & talk. “Sartaj Aziz is misinterpreting Ufa agreement.Kashmir is not part of composite dialogue” EAM said.
India Sent a letter inviting for NSA Talks on 23rd July but got a response back on the 14th of August.
She said that India and Pakistan agreed to three meetings in Ufa. Agenda of the NSA meet was only to discuss terror related issues. Meetings were at NSA level, BSF-Pak Ranger level & DGMO levels. The agenda was terror.

” We had pressure to cancel NSA Talks after ceasefire violations & Udhampur attack but felt the talks are even more relevant now” Sushma stressed.
“India doesn’t want to run away.India wants to create a climate for productive talks with Pak”.
