Bihar Chief minister Nitish kumar Monday presented a report card listing achievements during 10 years of his government. On this occasion he announced several measures for the larger interest of the common people, including the lakhs of protesting contract teachers of the state. Mr. Kumar said the government has decided to pay regular salary even to the contract teachers which will be effective from July 1, 2015.
For the last several months over 3.85 lakh contract teachers of the state have been demanding regular salary. Mr Kumar also said a bill will be introduced in state legislature to enact law for the grievance redressal of the common people. The grievance redressal will be the right of the common people in the state, he said. According to political observers, Mr Kumar announced such populist decisions keeping the upcoming assembly elections in mind.
