The State Health Department has stepped up preventive measures following the confirmation of Shigella infections in Keralam. One case each was reported in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur, while three cases each were confirmed in Malappuram and Kozhikode yesterday.
With the latest reports, the total number of confirmed Shigella cases in Malappuram district has risen to eight. The Health Department has issued an alert to prevent the spread of the disease and intensified preventive measures, including chlorination.
