naddaUnion Health Minister J P Nadda has said that there would not be any dearth of funds for the centrally sponsored health schemes in the North East region. Talking to media persons in Guwahati yesterday after the review meeting with the health ministers of North East, Mr. Nadda said that pace of work should not be hampered due to funds. He said that the Centre would provide all assistance for betterment of health indicators including reduction in Infant Mortality Rate and Maternal Mortality Ration in the region.

Mr. Nadda announced that the North East Regional Resource Centre will be strengthened further for better health care management. He further said that one Joint Secretary level officer from his ministry will visit the region in every month to take stock of development works. The minister said that the Centre has sanctioned an AIIMS for Assam and the construction works will begin following the allotment of land by the state government.
