BENGALURU: In a major coordinated crackdown on drug trafficking, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) Narcotics Control Wing, alongside teams from eight local police stations, has dismantled a widespread narcotics network operating across the city.

A total of 23 individuals have been arrested in connection with the illegal sale of prohibited narcotic substances and tobacco products. The arrested suspects include two foreign nationals, six individuals from other Indian states, and 15 local residents.

According to a press note issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Police (NO:45/PRO/COP/2026), the operations were launched on various dates following credible intelligence regarding the sale of banned substances within city limits. Cases have been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Massive Haul Targetted College Students

During interrogation, the accused confessed to procuring a variety of high-demand narcotics from unknown foreign, interstate, and local suppliers at lower prices. They targetd vulnerable groups, particularly members of the general public and college students, selling the contraband at heavily inflated rates for quick profits.

The police recovered a massive haul of narcotics and illegal tobacco products, which includes:

  • Hydro Ganja: 5 kg 360 g
  • Ganja: 10 kg 998 g
  • Cocaine: 143 g
  • MDMA: 237 g
  • Methamphetamine: 107 g
  • E-Cigarettes & Tobacco: 1,197 E-cigarettes, 100 E-cigarette refills, 180 boxes of C-cigarette oil & E-cigarettes, 452 boxes of foreign cigarettes, 490 individual foreign cigarettes, 1,206 Hookah cigarettes, and 126 Hookah sets.

The total cost value of the seized contraband is pegged at ₹4 Crore, while its estimated market value is staggering at ₹8 Crore.

Judicial Custody and Ongoing Probe

All 23 accused persons have been produced before the Honorable Court and have been remanded to judicial custody.

The successful joint operation was carried out under the guidance of top police officials, including Sri Ajay Hilori, IPS (Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime); Sri Raj Imam Kasim (DCP, Crime-02 Division); Dr. Vikram Amate, IPS (DCP, East Division); Sri B.S. Nemagouda, IPS (DCP, North Division); and Sri Mohammed Sujeeth, IPS (DCP, South-East Division).

Led by respective Assistant Commissioners of Police, the dedicated teams from the CCB Narcotics Control Wing and police stations including Hebbal, Indiranagar, Jeevan Bheemanagar, Suddaguntepalya, Hennur, Banaswadi, Ulsoor, and K.G. Halli executed the raids.

Police officials stated that further investigation is actively underway to trace, identify, and apprehend the primary suppliers who provided the narcotics to the arrested accused.
