Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin Sunday released the DMK’s election manifesto, outlining a mix of welfare expansion and economic growth measures. Speaking at the party headquarters in Chennai, he asserted that the state should continue on its current development path.

Mr Stalin claimed that the DMK government has delivered on its promises and would build on existing schemes if re-elected. Among the key announcements, the monthly assistance for women heads of families will be increased from 1,000 to 2,000, benefiting over 1.37 crore recipients. The elderly pension will also be raised to 2,000 rupees. The government’s breakfast scheme, currently covering students from Classes 1 to 5, will be expanded up to Class 8.

Meanwhile, nominations for the Assembly Polls in the state will begin today.
