Seven people were killed in the crash of Qatari Armed Forces helicopter in the country’s territorial waters. The Interior Ministry announced the completion of the search operation following the recovery of the wreckage and the bodies of all those on board. It also extended condolences to the families of the deceased.

Turkish Defence Ministry said the victims included four personnel from the Qatari Armed Forces, one member of the Turkish Armed Forces, and two technicians from the Turkish defence company Aselsan.

The Defence Ministry stated that the helicopter went down after suffering a technical malfunction during a routine mission. Authorities have not released details about the identities of those on board, and there is no indication at this stage of any hostile involvement.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions across West Asia, with the Gulf nation facing repeated drone and missile attacks in recent weeks following US-Israeli strikes on Iran. Key energy infrastructure, including Ras Laffan Industrial City, has been targeted multiple times.
