Punjab Police has launched the second phase of 72-hour-long ‘Operation Prahar’ from today to further intensify the campaign against gangsters to nab the wanted criminals. This has been done days after the success of the first phase of the Operation, which resulted in the arrest of over 3000 individuals in 72 hours and recovery of 69 weapons from their possession as well. Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav, while announcing phase 2 yesterday, said that senior officers from Punjab Police Headquarters have been deputed for effective supervision of the operation across the state. He urged people’s participation by anonymously reporting information related to wanted criminals and gangsters through the Anti Gangster Helpline number 93946-93946.
