AMN / Doha, Qatar
An emergency Arab-Islamic summit will convene in Doha tomorrow (Monday), following an extraordinary meeting of Arab and Islamic foreign ministers. The summit will review a draft statement condemning the recent Israeli attack on the State of Qatar, which targeted residential headquarters used by several Hamas leaders.
Officials said the summit reflects “broad Arab and Islamic solidarity with Qatar in confronting the cowardly Israeli aggression and rejecting state terrorism practiced by Israel.”
The preparatory meeting strongly denounced the strike, describing it as “Israel’s transgression of international law, human principles, and diplomatic norms, manifested in the barbaric attack on Doha.”
Delegates warned that the assault was not only an attack on a residential site but also “an attack on the principle of mediation itself and on all that diplomacy provides as an alternative to war.”
The statement stressed: “This reckless aggression will only derail de-escalation efforts and shows Israel’s rejection of peaceful pathways to resolve the Palestinian cause.”
Officials further underlined that “what encourages Israel to continue is the silence of the international community and the absence of consequences for its crimes.”
The draft concluded by reaffirming continued Qatari efforts, alongside Egypt and the U.S., to halt the war, while appreciating the UN Security Council’s condemnation of Israel and its support for Qatar.
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs OF Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani said:- “Israel’s transgression of international law, human principles, and diplomatic norms, was manifested in the barbaric attack on Doha.”
- “This attack can only be described as state terrorism.”
- “The reckless and treacherous Israeli aggression was committed while Qatar was hosting official, public negotiations that the Israeli side was aware of, that were aimed at a ceasefire in Gaza.”
- “Instead of appreciating the State of Qatar’s efforts, or attempting to maintain the progress achieved during the negotiations, Israel went and bombed the residential headquarters hosting the Hamas negotiation team.”
- “What happened was not just the targeting of a location, but an attack on the principle of mediation itself and on all that diplomacy provides in alternatives to war.”
