Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Wednesday briefed Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the incident involving killing of 20 alleged red sanders smugglers during police operation and the action taken by the state government in this regard. Official sources said, during the telephonic conversation last night, Mr Naidu explained to the Home Minister the circumstances leading to the incident.

Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has sought a report from Andhra Pradesh government about the incident which led to protests in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O P Panneerselvam has written a strongly-worded letter to N Chandrababu Naidu demanding a credible and speedy inquiry into the episode.
