In Chhattisgarh, five Maoists, including two females, were killed in an encounter with security forces today. A joint team of security forces was conducting a search operation in the North Aboojhmaad area of Narayanpur district after receiving intelligence inputs about the presence of Maoists in the area.
During the operation, an encounter took place, resulting in the killing of five Maoists. The bodies of the killed Maoists have been recovered by the security forces. Apart from this, a large number of arms and ammunition, including a self-loading rifle, have been recovered from the spot.
Two security personnel were injured in the exchange of fire and have been admitted to the hospital. Their condition is stable and out of danger. The search operation was still ongoing in the area when reports last came in.
