In view of cyclone Dana, the India Meteorological Department IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall from 23rd October to 25th October over the southern districts of West Bengal. The impact of the storm is likely to be expected in East and West Midnapore, South and North 24 Parganas, Jhargram, Howrah, Hooghly, and Bankura districts of West Bengal including Kolkata. Fishermen have been warned by the met department not to venture into the sea from 23rd to 25th October.


The Cabinet Secretary spoke to the West Bengal Chief Secretary today on the preparedness in view of the storm.
