In Lebanon, over 1,000 individuals, including Hezbollah fighters and medics, were injured today when communication pagers exploded across the country. Lebanon’s state news agency reported blasts in the southern suburbs of Beirut and several other areas. A Hezbollah official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, described the incident as the “biggest security breach” the group has faced in nearly a year of conflict with Israel.

Iranian media reported that Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was also injured in one of the blasts.

Since the escalation of the Gaza conflict last October, Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah have been locked in cross-border warfare, marking the worst such violence in years.
