In Mizoram, the BJP has promised upgradation of Zoram Medical College (ZMC) to the level of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).
Releasing the Vision Document for Mizoram ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Senior BJP leader and External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said that this election is not about 5 years but an election that will set the course for us for the next 25 years when India attains 100 years of Independence. The Minister said that the world today is looking towards India. Dr Jaishankar said that 10 years ago, the world said that India is a ‘fragile’ economy, today the world said that India is among the ‘top 5 economies’. India will be among the ‘top 3 economies’ very soon, the Minister said. “The world has a good opinion on us”, Dr Jaishankar added.
On the “Vision Document”, the Minister said that the health care system under “Ayushman Bharat” should be intensified in the state. The party also promised a robust health care facility where people could access low-cost medicines. The party has also proposed revamping of schools and establishment of Central University and more Engineering Colleges in the State. The BJP has also focused on skills development and welfare of the farmers.
Dr Jaishankar also interacted with the media and joined the “Intellectual Meet”.
Mizoram will go for polls on April 19.
