In an apparent dig at JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar after he ditched the grand alliance and returned to the BJP-led NDA, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya on Sunday said that the “garbage has gone back into the dustbin”.
“Garbage goes back into the dustbin. Happy stinking garbage to the group,” Acharya posted on ‘X’ in Hindi.
In another post, she used the “Paltu Ram” moniker for Nitish Kumar.
“Bihar ka ‘Litti Chokha’ aur ‘Paltu Ram’ ka dhokha rashtriya star par prasiddha hai (Bihar, Litti Chokha and Paltu Ram’s betrayal are famous on national level),” read her post.
Acharya also shared the old video of Nitish Kumar in which he purportedly said that it is better to die than going with the BJP.
Her stinging remarks came shortly after Nitish Kumar tendered his resignation as Bihar CM and ended his association with the RJD-led ‘Mahagathbandhan’.
Kumar said he was facing difficulties working with the Mahagathbandhan and when he shared his concerns with JD(U) members, they suggested his should resign.
“I was facing difficulties in working with this alliance. When I explained this to party members, they advised me to resign,” he said.
Earlier on Thursday, Acharya had also taken potshots at Nitish Kumar amid speculations of his NDA flip-flop, saying “those who are ideologically adrift claim to be the champions of socialism”.
She, however, deleted the post after Nitish Kumar reportedly took offence. The RJD, however, defended her remarks and claimed they were not made against the Bihar CM and targetted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar has staked claim to form a new government with support from the BJP and former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM.
He will take oath as Bihar chief minister for the record 9th time. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 5 PM today. Along with Nitish, two deputy chief ministers from the BJP will also take oath during the ceremony.
This is his 5th flip-flop in the last 10 years. Most recently, the Bihar CM had ditched the BJP-led NDA in 2022 and formed government with the help of the RJD, the Congress and other constituents.
