SRINAGAR: The three interlocutors appointed by the centre arrived here on Saturday on a 4-day visit. The interlocutors led by senior journalist Dileep Padgaonkar would assess the ground situation in the state.


“We will meet all shades of opinions here. Our primary focus is to interact with the students. We would the students here to be our teachers and educate us about the situation prevailing here,” they said while interacting with media persons here.

Padgaonkar along with other interlocutors academician Radha Kumar and Central Information Commissioner M. M. Ansari- reached here this afternoon.

Aiming to break the deadlock, the interlocutors said that they are aware about the daily sloganeering and crisis here but “We will seek to know beyond that by meeting all shades of the opinions.”

 “Our assessment of the situation will not be confined to this visit only but we will visit here every month for 10 days and accordingly gives report to home ministry at the end of the month,” they said

The Centre has appointed interlocutors to hold talks with all shades of opinion including the separatists in Jammu and Kashmir as part of efforts to bring peace in the state.
