In Turkey, at least 32 people were killed and dozens were injured in two separate road accidents yesterday. In the first accident, a passenger bus collided with emergency teams handling an earlier road accident on a highway near the city of Gaziantep.
Official sources said, at least 16 people were killed and 21 injured in the accident.
Governor of Gaziantep Province, Davut Gul said the dead included three firefighters, four emergency health workers and two drone operators from a Turkish news agency.
The wounded passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals. An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is underway.
Hours later, a truck hit a crowd of people 250 km away at the town of Derik in Mardin province, also killing 16 people. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said, the accident occurred after the breaks gave out on a lorry, which hit the crowd. There have been no reports of a connection between the incidents.
