Restaurants, gyms and cinema halls to operate at 50% capacity

Maharashtra government has announced new Covid guidelines. State government has decided to impose some additional restrictions on the entire state. As per the new directive, a gathering of more than 5 persons in public places across the state is prohibited from 9 pm to 6 am. Only 100 people will be allowed in indoor weddings and not more than 250 in outdoor weddings.

Restaurants, gyms, spas, hotels, theatres and cinema halls will now operate at 50 percent capacity.

As per new restrictions, the Maharashtra government has prohibited the gathering of more than five people in public places between 9 pm to 6 am. Only 100 people are allowed in indoor weddings and not more than 250 in outdoor weddings.

In case of social, political or religious functions and gatherings, where the presence of attendees is not generally continual, the total number of attendees shall not exceed 100 for closed spaces and 250 for open to sky areas or 25 percent of the space, whichever is less.

Gyms, spas, hotels, theatres and cinema halls in the state can only allow 50 percent of the full capacity.

Meanwhile, as informed by Health minister Rajesh Tope to the legislative council, the Maharashtra government has helped refund Rs 35 crore to patients who had complained of excessive charges by private hospitals for Covid treatment.

In the wake of rising cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has issued fresh guidelines for international travellers arriving from Dubai at Mumbai airport.

According to the order, all passengers arriving from the UAE and who are residents of Mumbai will have to undergo seven days home quarantine upon arrival in the city.

The BMC guidelines further stated that home quarantine will be followed by the Ward War Room for 7 days. On the 7th day, RT-PCR will be done. If the test is negative, the traveller will self-monitor for further 7 days. If the test is positive, they will be shifted to institutional quarantine as per the current guidelines for international travellers.
