The Government of Karnataka and British Council today signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Bengaluru to further bilateral cooperation in higher education. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said that the three years MoU involves leadership development in higher education institutions.

On bilateral ties between Karnataka and UK, the Chief Minister welcomed the establishment of the Tech Hubs and Tech Cluster programmes as well as Go Global programmes to take innovative start ups from India to UK.

The MoU signed today will enhance cooperation and collaboration between British Council and Karnataka State Higher Education Council. Both the bodies will facilitate transfer of ideas and suggest a roadmap for planning educational programmes. This will also facilitate empowering leadership development amongst teaching faculties in Karnataka and in the United Kingdom.

Speaking on the occasion, the Higher Education Minister in Karnataka Dr C N Ashwathnarayana said that India is poised for a transformation in education with the introduction of National Education Policy. The MoU signed today, he noted, will facilitate research and social linkages in the field of Higher Education between the two countries.
