Demands discussion in Parliament

Follwing reports of Chinese missile sites coming up on the eastern borders at Naku La and Doka La, the Congress termed them a threat to India’s security and demanded a discussion in the Parliament saying the Centre must take the nation into confidence on the issue.
Addressing a joint virtual press conference, Congress leaders Rajiv Shukla and Gaurav Gogoi said the government should discuss the issue during the Monsoon session of Parliament saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should respond to the concerns of all.
Meanwhile, government sources maintained that the armed forces were keeping a close watch on Chinese activities at the border.
“We would urge the government of India to take the nation into confidence. The government should also discuss the issue in Parliament along with coronavirus, and clarify what threat it poses to the country’s security,” Shukla told reporters.
Gogoi, the Congress’ deputy leader in Lok Sabha, said this is a matter of grave concern that affects national security and could have dangerous consequences.
Calling recent developments along the LAC a dangerous step, Gogoi said that the party had consistently reminded the Modi government of the strengthening of the military by expansionist China, but the Indian government and the prime minister remained silent.
What is Modi govt action plan to deal with this situation?
The two leaders further said the government must tell the nation about its action plan to deal with the situation.
China is building missile air defense infrastructure near Doklam, Naku La and new satellite images accessed by open-source intelligence analyst ‘DetResFa’ revealed that the location of the upcoming missile site is near China, Bhutan and India tri-junction at Doklam plateau just 50 km away from the 2017 stand-off site, and the location of the May 2020 border skirmish which took place in Naku La.
