In Meghalaya, another COVID-19 related death was registered today taking the total fatality to seven while 93 new cases were detected.

Director of Health Services Dr Aman War told the media this evening that the patient was diagnosed with SARI case and was referred from Woodland hospital to Shillong Civil Hospital. The 58-year old male breathed his last at night taking the total death so far to seven so far. The cause of death was Acute Respiratory Disorder Syndrome caused due to COVID-19 and he had underlying ailment including diabetes and hypertension.

Meanwhile, of the new cases detected today, the Director said that 66 cases were from East Khasi Hills district, ten from West Khasi Hills district, nine from West Garo Hills, two each from Ri- Bhoi and North Garo Hills district and four from East Jaintia Hills district.He also informed that so far a total of 23,221 random testings has been done across the state, 397 have tested positive.

So far, the State has detected 1,035 active cases 769 recovered and seven deceased.
