The daughter of a poor family of Neemuch district in madhya Pradesh has joined the Air Force as an officer and has brought laurels for her family and the society. Anchal Gangwal joined the Indian Air Force as a flying officer. Her father Suresh Gangwal is a tea seller in Neemuch.

Anchal was commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF) a few days back, but it was not an easy journey for her as sometimes her father did not even have the money to pay for her education fees. Anchal’s father said that her commissioning was a proud moment for family.

He said his daughter dreamt of joining the IAF after seeing the bravery of its personnel in helping people during the 2013 Kedarnath tragedy. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated Anchal Gangwal for making the state proud and extended best wishes to her.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javdekar also praised her achievement. In a tweet message, Mr Javdekar said that -Kudos to Aanchal Gangwal, a tea seller’s daughter from Neemuch district in Madhya Pradesh who got commissioned into Indian Air Force as an officer. She also topped the IAF academy and bagged the President’s Plaque. Women’s empowerment is the way forward.
