The Tamil Nadu Government has extended the lockdown till the 30th of this month. In a statement issued by Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy, it is mentioned that all the restrictions under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Disaster Management Act, 2005 will be in force till this month end. He has said the decision on the extension of the lockdown has been taken based on the discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently by all the state chief ministers through videoconferencing and the recommendations of the WHO and the state committee of physicians and epidemiologists.

He has said the free rations for all ration card holders and the migrant workers will be distributed next month also due to the job loss due to the lock down. The members of various labour welfare boards will be given another installment of a thousand rupees each.

Mizoram government decided to extend the lockdown till 30th April as a preventive measure to contain the spread of Coronavirus. Chief Minister Zoramthanga announced this after chairing a meeting of council of Ministers today. Followed by this meeting Chief Minister also held meeting with different committees, and state level task forces and representatives of NGOs in this regard. Chief Minister said that during the extended period of lockdown some relaxation is likely to be given to a few sectors which will be chalked out in course of time.

Meanwhile, the state government has decided to intensify the security measures along the bordering areas with Assam and Tripura, and along the international borders the state is sharing with as a preventive step to contain the spread of COVID19.

The state government has also decided to provide the stranded Mizo people free accommodation and free fooding at the Mizoram House located in various states. Chief Minister said the decision has been taken as there is no way out to bring back the Mizo people stranded in various states in lockdown period due to suspension of all types of transportation all over the country.

Meghalaya Government has decided to extend the lockdown till April 30 following a Cabinet meeting held today at Shillong.

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that after reviewing the prevailing situation across the region, the decision to extend the lockdown was taken.

The Cabinet also decided to pay 700 rupees per week to over 1,20,000 beneficiaries who work in unorganised sectors during the lockdown which began from March 23 till April 14.

Informing that there are over 3000 students and workers from the State stranded in other parts of the country, the Deputy Chief Minister said that each of them will be given a one-time financial benefit of 3000 rupees.

He said that inter-district movements will not be allowed until further order, but said that migrant workers who are currently stationed in shelter homes set up by the Government will be allowed to move back to their respective districts which are within the State. All inter-state movement from all entry and exit points will continue to be sealed throughout Meghalaya, he added.

Stating that the Cabinet also reviewed its earlier decision of allowing private transportation, he said that after thorough discussions and getting inputs from all the Deputy Commissioners, the Cabinet reviewed the decisions and decided that private transport will not be allowed in urban areas. However, he said that the Deputy Commissioners of other districts have been directed to come up with modalities whether it can be allowed in rural areas.

Arunachal Pradesh Government has extended the lockdown in the state till April 30 in view of the COVID19 Pandemic. The decision was taken by the State Cabinet today. The extension comes with few more exemptions in addition to the existing one. The government offices in the districts will commence from April 15. The state level offices such as Directorates, Heads of offices and secretariat would start their operations from 15th April, except for some non-essential offices.

Arunachal Pradesh government has advised the students and other citizens of the state who are stranded at various locations in the country not to travel back to Arunachal Pradesh till 30th April 2020.

The lockdown imposed to contain the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the union territory of Puducherry has been extended till April 30, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy announced today. Mr Narayanasamy said the adjoining Tamil Nadu has extended the lock- down and as such Puducherry cannot be isolated and hence, the lock down is being extended till April 30. At present, shops will remain open from 6 am to 1 pm and as more people from Tamil Nadu are expected to come to Puducherry more restrictions need to be put in place to deal with the situation. Decision regarding the functioning of industrial units in the UT would be taken and announced tomorrow, he added.
