Three more Corona virus positive cases have been reported in Telangana taking the total number of positive cases to 44. Among the three reported today, a doctor couple tested positive for the virus. Both are practitioners at a private clinic and residents of Domalguda, a dense area in the city with no recent foreign travel history.
All the three patients are stable and under treatment at a designated hospital. With this, the number of contact positive cases in the state has gone up to nine causing concern among the health authorities. The surveillance and contact tracing teams have initiated measures to identify persons who all had come in contact with the doctor couple during the past few days.
In Karnataka, the COVID-19 positive cases have gone up to 55 today. This includes two deaths and three discharges. Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa held a video conference with District Deputy Commissioners and evaluated the preventive measures and lock-down arrangements for the pandemic. He has welcomed the package announced by the Union Finance Minister for the unorganized sector under Gareeb Kalyan programme.
The Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar has informed that one lakh 25 thousand passengers have arrived to Bengaluru from abroad since 21st January. Trace, Test and Treatment method is followed to detect the infected persons. He informed that 31 Fever Clinics will begin functioning in Bengaluru tomorrow to offer preliminary check ups. The clinics will also be used for those quarantined already. He informed that 5,000 Corona soldiers are working round the clock across the state to boost the morale of those infected of Corona. He thanked private distilleries for producing and supplying sanitizers without any charges. The State Government today released a Corona Watch mobile app to show spots visited by Corona positive patients before detection.
In Punjab, the number of persons who have been tested postive for novel corona virus has risen to 33 after two new cases of COVID-19 reported positive today. One death is reported in the state so far. Punjab Health and Family Welfare Department disclosed this in the media bulletin issued today.
The department says that 346 people out of 722 suspected cases have been reported negative, while report of 376 persons is awaited so far. In the state, maximum 19 positive cases have been reported from Nawanshahr (SBS Nagar) district, who were in contact of the person who had died of Corona.
