Uttarakhand cabinet on Tuesday decided to reserve four state medical colleges in Dehradun, Haldwani, Srinagar-Garhwal and Almora for treating Corona patients. Government’s spokesperson and Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik said, cabinet have also approved Indian Institute of Petroleum and AIIMS for testing Covid 19 samples besides medical colleges. Minister added the heads of Srinagar, Garhwal, Haldwani and Doon Medical Colleges have been authorized to appoint doctors against the vacant post within three months.
In a bid to help laborers following the lockdown in the state, the cabinet decided to give Rs 3 crores each to Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar, Nainital and Dehradun District Magistrates. The rest of the districts will receive Rs 2 crores to give urgent relief to unorganized laborers. Besides, food (RASHAN) will be provided in the month of April through the public distribution system for three months in advance
