Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi today took oath as a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha. The oath of affirmation or allegiance to the Constitution was administered by Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu.
Several opposition members raised noisy protests amidst walkout. Mr Naidu took exception to the opposition protests saying it was unfair. Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, the House has a tradition of having former justices so that they can contribute their best.
