Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu today expressed concern over the issue of the child pornography. During Zero Hour, he urged the members to discuss this issue in the house and give concrete social and legislative suggestions to tackle this problem so that government can take effective action.
He said, child pornography is a serious problem which needs effective and concrete steps as the parents especially mothers are so worried about their children. He said, informal committee should be set up to discuss the issue.
Mr. Naidu asked Congress MP Jairam Ramesh, Tiruchi Siva of DMK and others to take a led in this direction. Yesterday, Vijila Sathyananth of AIADMK raised the issue in the house during Zero Hour.
Intervening on the issue, Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani assured that strict actions will be taken against those who are involved in child pornography.
