Chhath festival is being celebrated in several parts of the country with religious fervour and gaiety. On the third day of the festival, Lakhs of devotees offered Sandhya Arghya to the setting Sun on the ghats of rivers, ponds and other water bodies.

In Bihar, a large number of devotees including with traditional head to nose vermillion anointed women gathered to worship the Sun god across river ghats and other water bodies. Tomorrow devotees will offer Pratah Arghya to the rising Sun and with this the four-day-long festival would conclude.

West Bengal joined rest of the country in celebrating Chhath Puja on Friday. The State Governor Mr. Jagdeep Dhankhar has greeted the people on the occasion. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a gathering of Chhath devotees on the banks of river Ganga in Kolkata this afternoon. She wished their well beings. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted people on Chhath Festival. In a tweet, Mr Modi hoped that Sun God will always illuminate everyone with his energy and aura and the country continues to climb new steps of success and prosperity.
