Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra finally met with the families of victims of Sonbhadhra incident at Chunar Fort guest house at Mirzapur. Members of victims’ families reached here this morning to meet her.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra continues to be under detention at Chunar Fort guest house at Mirzapur. Ms Vadra was yesterday detained and stopped from going to Ghorawal of Sonbhadra where 10 people were gunned down this week in a land dispute matter.
Refusing to furnish a personal bond, Ms Vadra stayed put at this guest house where she was taken after she squatted on the road with her supporters, insisting that she be allowed to proceed and meet the victims’ families. She has already denied to go back without meeting the victims.
Civil and police officials tried to persuade her till late last night but she refused to relent. She said she considered paying bail immoral in this situation. Uttar Pradesh Congress Legislature Party leader Ajay Kumar Lallu is also with her at the guest house.
Earlier, Ms Vadra met some of the injured at the BHU Trauma Centre in Varanasi. She was stopped at Narainpur on the Varanasi-Mirzapur road while she was heading towards Sonbhadra yesterday.

Earlier, she was not allowed to visit the incident place village Murtia in Ghorawal area in Sonbhadra where 10 people were killed last Wednesday in a land dispute.
