Both the houses of Parliament witnessed noisy scenes over the political situation in Karnataka today. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice, before being adjourned for the day following protest by Congress members over Karnataka issue. As soon as House met at 11 a.m. Congress members created ruckus after which the Chairman adjourned the house till noon. But when house reassembled after first adjournment, Congress members again trooped into the well raising slogans. TMC members were also in the well against the disinvestment in PSUs. Deputy Chairman Harivansh repeatedly urged the agitating members for order in the house but in vain. Later, he adjourned the house till 2 PM. The house was adjourned for the day immediately after it was assembled after second adjournment.

In the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury tried to raise Karnataka issue but speaker Om Birla denied the permission. This prompted Congress members to troop into the well. Members from DMK, SP and others were also in the well raising slogans against the government. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury accused the BJP of doing poaching politics to destabilize the Congress- JDS government in Karnataka. Responding to it, the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated that Centre has nothing to do with the current political turmoil in the state. He said, Congress is not able to keep its house in the order and trying to disturb the proceedings of the Lok Sabha over the issue. When Rajnath Singh was replying opposition members from Congress, DMK, NC and others staged a walkout raising slogans against the Central Government.
