As the cyclone Fani stings Odisha Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu on Friday said that all airlines must immediately respond to the concerns of passengers affected by Cyclone Fani.

In a series of tweets, Prabhu urged all airlines must immediately respond to the concerns of passengers affected by Cyclone Fani and help to mitigate the situation arising out of this calamity.

“We are ready to offer help needed for the stranded due to cyclonic storm Fani. Control room, helplines are manned all times to assist affected passengers. All Airlines must immediately respond to the concerns of passengers,” he tweeted.

Prabhu also said his ministry will work with the state governments of Odisha and other states which are being hit by the cyclone to assist them in rescue and relief operations.

The DGCA also had on Thursday said there would be no flights to and from Kolkata airport from 3pm on Friday to 8am on Saturday. Airports across coastal Orissa, Telangana on high alert. The timings concerning the shutdown of flight operations at Kolkata airport.
