WITH the severity of FANI cyclone is increasing day by day and the people in north coastal Andhra Pradesh are fearful of the cyclone as they have already experienced the PETHAI cyclone in recent past and TITLI in few months ago.

The Fani cyclone has been intensified into very severe cyclone and moving towards Odisha coast. Authorities in Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states have been warned to be ready to meet any eventuality due to ‘Fani’. It is likely to hit the Odisha coast by May 3 afternoon and may also have an effect in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram north coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Coast Guards, and shipping and telecom departments have been urged to be ready to extend their help and states have been requested to make arrangements for supply of drinking water and other relief materials in the areas likely to be affected by ‘Fani’.

The District Collectors of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram have been taking all the precautionary measures to face any situation during cyclone in their respective Districts, Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea.
