A UK High Court has denied fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya permission to appeal against his extradition order. He had filed the application after a Westminster Magistrates’ Court ordered his extradition to India.

UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid had also ordered his extradition to India after the court’s order. Mallya has to face alleged fraud and money laundering charges amounting to 9,000 crore rupees.

Mallya has been based in the UK since March 2016 and remains on bail on an extradition warrant executed by Scotland Yard in April 2017.
