Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold two election rallies at Amroha and Saharanpur in Uttar Pardesh today. In the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting will take place for Western UP’s Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar constituencies on 11th of this month. This will be Mr. Modi’s second rally in the state for the first phase elections. Earlier, he addressed a rally in Meerut.
Saharanpur will see a three-cornered contest among the BJP, Congress and the SP-BSP-RLD alliance candidates. Imran Masood is fighting on the Congress ticket while and BSP has given ticket to Fazlur Rahman. From BJP, sitting MP Raghav Lakhanpal is candidate from Saharanpur seat.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold a road show in Ghaziabad today. The SP-BSP-RLD alliance will hold their first joint rally in Deoband on Sunday. All three party chiefs – Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati and Ajit Singh will address the rally. Congress President Rahul Gandhi is also likely to hold a rally in Saharanpur on Monday.
BJP President Amit Shah will address public rallies at Changjang in Arunachal Pradesh, Thoubal in Manipur and Mourigaon in Assam today.
