Australia beat India by three wickets in a last-ball thriller in the first Twenty-20 International at Visakhapatnam last night.

With 14 required off the last over, Umesh Yadav was hit for a boundary each by Australian Jhye Richardson and Pat Cummins, as they reached the target of 127 off the last delivery of the match.

Glen Maxwell top-scored for Australia with a 56 off 43 balls and Darcy Short made 37 off 37 balls. For India, Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets.

Earlier, put into bat, India scored 126 for 7 in the stipulated 20 overs. K.L.Rahul top scored for India with 50. N.M. Coulter-Nile claimed three Indian wickets.

The second and final T-20 will be played in Bengaluru on Wednesday. After it, the two teams will play a five-match ODI series beginning 2nd of next month.

This series is India’s last before the 50-over World Cup, which starts on 30th May in England.
