Prime Minister Narendra Modi today came down heavily at opposition alliance terming it as a grouping for corruption, scams, negativity, instability and inequality. He said that the opposition have started making excuses for their inevitable defeat in 2019 general elections by questioning EVMs.

Interacting with BJP booth workers from Hatkanangale, Kolhapur, Madha, Satara in Maharashtra and from South Goa Parliamentary constituencies, Mr Modi said these parties do not have faith in constitutional institutions and they are busy in maligning these.

He said yesterday’s TMC led opposition parties’ rally was only to protect and promote dynastic politics. He said BJP has alliance with 125 crore people and their aspirations.

Without naming West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Mr Modi said the party which was involved in large scale violence even in panchayat polls in the state is now talking about saving democracy in the country.

Talking about the Government’s decision to give 10 percent reservation belonging to economically weaker sections in upper caste, the Prime Minister said the Opposition parties would not have been so anxious if this decision was not effective. He rejected the allegations that decision has been taken in view of polls.

Earlier on Saturday criticising the Opposition rally in Kolkata, Prime Minister said that the mahagathbandhan was not just against him but against “all the people of the country”. He said these parties had come together because he had stopped them from “looting” public money, and the fight was now between the “public and mahagathbandhan”.

He said the Opposition parties from across the country had gathered in Kolkata “out of fear”, and were now crying for help. “Pashchim Bangal mein, BJP ka ek MLA hain. Lekin wahan BJP se bachne ke liye, poore Hindustan ke saare log ikathe hue hain. Ek MLA wali party ne unki neend haram kar di hain. Kyun ki hum satya ke marg par chalne wale log hain. Ek MLA hone ki vajah se, Hindustan ki saari jamat wahan ikathe ho kar bachao, bachao, bachao ke naare laga rahi hain… Inki zameen khisak rahi hain, aur dar ke maare ikathe ho rahe hain (In West Bengal, there is only one BJP MLA. But to save themselves from the BJP, they have gathered there from across the country.
