Senior military officials from the north and south Koreas have agreed on a number of issues, including a plan to withdraw more than 20 guard posts from the demilitarized zone by the end of next month.
They wrapped up talks about the enforcement of a military agreement yesterday. It was the first high-level military meeting between the two sides since the leaders of both Koreas met last month.
The 2 sides have agreed to hold more talks regarding the withdrawal of the remaining guard posts if the removal of the first set goes well.
A joint committee will be established to enforce the military agreement as soon as possible.
They have also agreed to prepare to excavate the remains of soldiers killed during the Korean War. They are located inside the DMZ.
The military agreement was signed in September, after the Pyongyang summit. It included a pledge to halt all hostile acts against each other on land, sea, and air…from the beginning of next month.
